The Morris/on family from Ireland traveled to Geelong on this vessel. Unfortunately the father Richard Morrison and two of his daughters died within weeks/months of arrival in Australia leaving his wife Ann to raise 7 children (one a baby) alone in a new land.

Six members of the Hillard family from County Fermanagh emigrated on this ship. All arrived safely and developed successful lives . Many descendants are still in Melbourne and Victoria. Family list is at http://indexes.records.nsw.gov.au/ebook/list.aspx?Page=NRS5316/4_4817/Bussorah%20Merchant_26%20Jun%201850/4_481700131.jpg&No=3 .

I am looking for a list of children's birth and deaths on the 1850 voyage of the Bussorah Merchant to Australia. I have been unable to find a list birth and death for three children in our family. Their names were Archibald Gillies, he died and we have been told that he was buried on the Isle of Wight. John Gillies isn't listed as a passenger that I could find, however, I did find him on a list of deaths for children. My great grandfather, Donald Gillies was born on the 12 March 1850 on the Bussorah Merchant. I was unable to find him listed on the ships list of births.

I am looking for a full passenger list for the 1850 voyage of the Bussorah Merchant

I am writing a story about my family and how our branch of the family ended up as Americans. This also includes some family history that goes back into Canada, England, Scotland and Ireland. I am doing this, so my children and grandchildren know something about their families. Surnames change over the years so there are many more family names today Any help that is verified will be of enormous help for my story.
