I,my mum and dad and 5 sisters boarded the Fairsky at Brisbane in September 1969 to return to UK via Wellington,Tahiti,Panama canal,Curacao, Madeira, Lisbon, arriving Southampton on (I think) November 4th.At the time I was almost 16,had a fabulous trip,met some great people and had a few adventures ie,nearly missing the boat in Tahiti, that would have been terrible ha ha.I have some wonderful memories of that trip.

Today marks 50 years since my parents, Joyce and Bob and I migrated to Australia leaving Southampton aboard the Fairsky. We disembarked in Sydney and my brother joined us within the year after finishing his apprenticeship in England. We moved to Queensland after 14 months in Sydney. The voyage was a great experience and met some interesting people. One family who we are still in contact with today, offered us sandwiches as we sat in one the ships lounges. They had travelled the same journey a few years before and said we would not be getting a meal for a while. There was two nurses Gloria and Maria. Mum and I went to Maria's wedding in Sydney but we lost contact when we went to Queensland. Great Memories. Mo

My name is Mike Collinson - I'm a UK Independent Researcher who locates and reunites "missing people." In 1960 (or thereabouts) the Bracey family left Southampton bound for Australia on the Fairsky ship. They were Sidney Bracey, his wife Doris E Bracey (nee Salter) and their daughter Sandra Eileen Bracey. Sandra would have been 15 years old at the time. Knowing that 15 year olds make friends easily, I wonder if anyone on that voyage kept in touch with the Bracey family. Can anyone remember the BRACEY family from that journey, and maybe stayed in touch with them after they all reached Australia. The Bracey's Granddaughter in the UK is very keen to know what happened to them, although none of the Bracey's may still be alive. Sandra herself will be 76. Does anyone on this website

My mum made a voyage on the Ss Fairsky in 1970 from Melbourne to Southampton. She met a crew member called Antonio Anastasia. How would I go about trying to find him? Are there any files of the crew members?

I left Melbourne Australia in October 1970 to Southampton. Arrived on 3 December 1970. Trip took 6 weeks. Met an Irishman names Colm Roddy and his dutch friend John. Also met an English family returning from Australia to England. Had my first Christmas with this family from somewhere up North in England. Would love to re connect.

We left from Sydney 28-10-1970 with the Fairsky and arrived in Rotterdam 08-12-1970. My parents Jerry (Gerrit/Gerard) Verhoeff and Rina Verhoeff, with the children Mary, Johannes (Jerry), Cheryl and me Miranda. It was a great time.
